First thing to do is wipe down the surfaces with Lysol wipes. Both Mays & I religiously disinfect in attempt to get rid of the News Desk Funk. However, no matter how hard we try, it lingers on.

yes, even the scanners get disinfected.
Then my sidekick and I are ready to roll.
Santa's here! Santa's here!
That's what the dogs were barking with excitement Christmas morning. I snapped a few shots.
They were very excited about Chris' new clothes.

And some family photos from the Tobias/Wheeland gathering.
Watching football (classic's 'cause that's all that was on) as we do every family gathering.
Kristin & Ava
Yes, those are reindeer antlers...my mom would be the one to bring those to the party :)
Grandma & Grandpa Wheeland with Eleanor & Tom
Jason & Ava
Chris & I (...and our clashing red & pink. Obviously, we're NOT the couple that dresses alike)
Jarrod (in from Cali) and Jason. Heard they had a long night.
I had my camera at Chris' family get-together on Christmas Eve, but forgot to snap any photos! Oops.
You may have heard the retail industry and media reporting hype that the day after Christmas is the ‘NEW Black Friday’. So far today, shopping the day after Christmas has turned into a flop. The malls and shopping areas in Columbus are NOT busy; Easton has plenty of parking spots available, the wait time for returning merchandise isn't exceeding the usual 5-10 minutes, and the HUGE after Christmas sale Kohl's has advertised has not attracted much shopper attention.
Total shopping sales for the year (excluding automobiles) are down 5.5% and 8% from Dec. through Christmas Eve from last year’s sales, according to MasterCard Inc.’s SpendingPulse unit. Due to the decline, retailers were slashing prices in hopes of luring additional shoppers. The large discounts weren’t persuasive enough for us during these bleak economic times. Some experts are calling 2008 the worst holiday sales season on record.
So I'm driving down N. High Street at 4:32 a.m. (in a hurry because I'm already 2 minutes late, of course) when I happen to see a large, orange glow above the buildings and trees. This is what I found.
I've gotta post this email I received to the newsdesk this morning. Enjoy.
Hello my Name is Shanna me and my kids father have been having problems and I was trying to think of a way to say I'm sorry So if you can on air say Clinton I'm sorry and I love you Marry Christmas LOVE NANU
just in case 614-7**-***5
I responded very politely, of course, that we do not air personal messages on the news and to try a local newspaper :)
For the tree this year, I didn't pull out any of the sentimental mismatched ornaments and went straight for classy holiday decor. The red & gold looks awesome. (But I'll admit, I miss some of the meaningful, mismatched ones...)

This is our first large Christmas tree, given to us by my great aunt. (I can get away with $75 in holiday decorations for the house when the tree's free)
Our early Christmas gift...our new dog Coley.
She and Bobbie are starting to really get along, although Coley invades Bobbie's 'territory' often. We're working on that.

The Franklin County BOE released today that 66.85% of registered voters in Franklin County voted. That's an awesome percentage, especially in relation to past national percentages.
1960 looks to have been the highest voter turnout in US history with 63.1%. The average from 1960 - 2004 is 47.53%. The 2008 national turnout looks to be near 60%--not record breaking as expected, but still good.
